Day 15 – Pula

We went on the train to Pula this morning. When we were about 19, Lorna went inter railing there and wrote me a letter extolling the virtues of the communist system. In recent years, she has claimed that the letter was ironic. Pula is a Venetian town with roman heritage. Lorna was interesting to see how things had changed; there is now a choice of eating establishments (we had a great lunch) and the accommodation bureau that organised all lodging has been replaced by people having a choice of where they want to stay.

On the train back, we observed the high level of manning on croatia’s railways. Each tiny station had someone full time to sell tickets. Our station must have sold 4 tickets today. We met 5 German inter railers. I’d like to do that with the kids.

Tilly’s tummy is still sore. Tilly and I have cancelled the diving we were to do. I think she will be fine for horse riding shortly though.

This evening, we watched Charlie’s Angels Full Throttle (we are scraping the bottom of the barrel). I do not intend to review. However, Lorna’s review is “Probably the worst film ever made”. Tilly’s “Very random”. Disturbingly, Nancy’s “It’s good”. I think Lorna is probably wrong and there are a number of actors who should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves.

Surely it is time for a new DVD barrel?

    Leave Nancy alone – she’s only 8.
